Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler, commonly known as the Telehandler works off the same principles as a counterbalance forklift. As with the counterbalance forklift, it has a counterweight at the rear allowing it to carry objects of similar weight, it has a boom which can extend and reach places a standard forklift can’t. Widely used on building sites and in the agriculture industry due to its ability to negotiate rough terrain with its specially adapted tyres and suspension where a forklift would struggle. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES Aims This course is designed to train and assess operators in the safe operation of Telehandlers, including the hazards and any precautions to be taken, also gaining up to date knowledge of current Legislation regarding Plant Machinery. Objectives By the end of the course, candidates will be able to identify main components of the telehandler, Complete a Pre-Use check operate the machine safely in the working environment and understand current Legislation.
